DESCRIPTION

The common coat colour is brown with white spots on the back and a black tip at the end of the tail. Winter colour is darker. Does and fawns live in herds while males live in smaller groups.

During the rut bucks spread out forming harems and fighting furiously for its control, at this time of year fallow deer are relatively ungrouped compared to the rest of the year when they try to stay together in groups of up to 100. Fallow deer are grazing animals and prefer habitat in mixed woodland and open grassland. Only bucks carry antlers. These are broad and shovel like (palmate) from 3 years, growing in size with age.

Agile and fast in case of danger, fallow deer can run so fast and jump high.

GEOGRAPHIC RANGE

All national territory in wooden areas. We work in Toledo mountains, Teruel and Jaen Province.

 

HABITAT

Native in Mediterranean region and conifer forest.

Lodging is provided in hotels close to the hunting area. If you want a five stars accommodation (High Luxury), please ask us budget.

HUNTING SEASON
From October to May.
Rutting period: 10th October to 5th November.
HUNTING METHOD

Hunting is arranged by stalking in Private Game Reserves. Driven hunt is possible as well.
